Thomas J. Altobello, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Tuesday July 10, 2012 at Erie County Medical Center Skilled Nursing Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Costible) Altobello.

Thomas was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. During the Korean War he served as a M.P. in the U.S. Army stationed in Italy from December 13, 1950 until his honorable discharge on November 14, 1952. On April 25, 1953 he married Mary A. (Marra) Altobello at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Altobello predeceased him on March 11, 2007. He worked in the construction trade at various sites in the Niagara Falls area for forty five years until retiring in 1985. Thomas enjoyed golfing, watching the Yankees and playing the ponies β€œat the office.” His greatest love was spending time and playing board games with his grandchildren

Mr. Altobello is survived by two sons Thomas F. Altobello and Joseph A. Altobello both of Niagara Falls, NY; three grandchildren Thomas Joseph Altobello, Craig (Julie) James Altobello and MaryJo Altobello, one brother Frank ( late Hutchy) Altobello of Ocheechobee, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers Joseph (late Eleanor) Altobello and Anthony (late Sistina) Altobello.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 – 7 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUENRAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. Entombment will follow with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the National Parkinson Disease Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Avenue, Bob Hope Rd, Miami, FL 33136.
