Elsio V. Paloni, 80, passed away on Sunday April 18, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona where he had resided since 1970. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Rose (Orlandi) Paloni.
Elsio was raised and educated in Niagara Falls. He graduated from the University of Rochester, and afterwards attended the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. Elsio went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force as a jet fighter pilot during the Vietnam War, and retired as a Major after 20 years of service. He then devoted his time, experience and enthusiasm teaching math to high school students in the Scottsdale Arizona public school system. Elsio had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling cross country and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Paloni is survived by his wife Barbara Paloni, his three children, Angella Paloni of Scottsdale, AZ, Sheila (Paul Lee) Paloni of Manhattan, NY and Stephen (Lauri) Paloni of Newtown, PA, three grandchildren, Justin Paloni, Jennifer Paloni and Bryce Lee and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother Eliseo Paloni and three sisters, Elide Moschini, Mary Walters and Lydia Paloni. There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday May 17th at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay O.S.F.S. officiating. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
