A. Joseph DeMunda, 96, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on November 1, 2022. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Joseph and Grazia (DeSantis) DeMunda.

Joseph was raised in Niagara Falls where he attended local schools. He enlisted in the United States Army and served at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Following his discharge in 1946, he returned home and married Barbara (Rizzo) DeMunda at St. Joseph Church in 1951. She predeceased him on April 29, 2020.

Joseph was employed by the City of Niagara Falls in the Parks Department for many years until his retirement. He also was a talented wood worker and carpet installer.

Joseph enjoyed spending time with his friends and family at Mike's Marketside, where he also looked forward to seeing his buddy, Mike Poletti. In addition, he also loved visiting with his friends, John DeSantis and Rob Morreale at Collision Enterprise regularly.

Joseph liked going to the Seneca Niagara Casino. Above, all he cherished the time spent with his family, especially at his grandchildren's sporting events.

Mr. DeMunda is survived by his son, Gary (Karri) DeMunda; his grandchildren, Bianca (James) Butera, Joseph DeMunda, Brittany (Erick) Cramer, Alexis Nichols and Justin Nichols; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Benjamin Cramer; his sister-in-law Shirley (Joseph) Murgia, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary (late Dominic) Totoro, Rose (late Charles) Buscemi, Frank (late Evelyn) DeMunda, Julia (late Sam) Ricotta, Thomas (late Frances) DeMunda, John (late Anna Mary) DeMunda and Anthony (late Angeline) DeMunda; and his sister-in-law, Carmella Fiorello.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 4 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Saturday at 9:15 AM, followed by Joseph's Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
