Aaron D. Swanson, 46, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2023 at his residence. Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the Theodore R. Swanson and the late Dortha (McClain) Swanson.
Aaron received his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Niagara County Community College. He was employed as a cook at various restaurants and facilities, including Pete's Market House, Niagara University, Stella Niagara, and Fantasy Island. For the past year, he worked as an Industrial Roofer for United Thermal Systems in Niagara Falls, NY. Aaron's passion was cooking. He also enjoyed playing cards and watching Spongebob Squarepants with his kids. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his father, Aaron is survived by his beloved children, Justice Davenport, Evangeline 'Eve' Averhart, Abraham 'Aaron' Averhart, Zipporah 'Janea' Averhart, Malachi Swanson, and Kyron Swanson; his cherished grandchildren, Michael Phillips III and Kylie Parmer; his siblings, Sandra H. Winters, Gail A. (Steve) Collins, Tara (Aaron) Thornwell, La'Gie L. Swanson, Dan L. McClain, Theodora V. (late James) Sanders, Calvin J. Swanson, Lionel L. Swanson and Jason J. Swanson; his dear friend and mother of his children, Joelle Szopinski, his beloved Godbrother, Asen Whisnant, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his brother, Raymond C. Swanson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 26 from 1 – 4 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where Aaron's homegoing services will begin at 4 PM. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
