Adelaide (Julian) Tanzella, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday April 28, 2010 at Northgate Manor in North Tonawanda, NY under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls,, NY she was the daughter of the late Armando "Herman and Incoronata (Cassano) Julian.

Adelaide, a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area, attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1934. On September 27, 1939 she married Louis Tanzella at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Tanzella predeceased her on December 5, 1962. She was employed at the former Shangri-La, Ivanhoe Inn and Macri's Palace Restaurant all in Niagara Falls, NY and from the late 1980's until the late 1990's she served as a Foster Grandmother for HANCI (Health Association of Niagara County, Inc.). Adelaide was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls since it first opened. In 2004 she was a recipient of the Pine Avenue Business Association's Cittadini Speciale Award. Adelaide enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, sewing, crocheting and bowling with other members of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She also liked playing cards, going to the Casino and watching television particularly soap operas, game shows and reruns of old programs. Most of all, Adelaide's life was centered on her family and her greatest pleasure was spending time with them.

Mrs. Tanzella is survived by five children Victor (Linda L.) Tanzella of Niagara Falls, NY; Frances (Walter L.) Mamon of Youngstown, NY; William (Christine) Tanzella of Chandler, AZ; Louis (Michele) Tanzella and Mary Tanzella both of Niagara Falls, NY; eight grandchildren Vicki (Victor) Ladoucer, Kelli (Jeffrey) Krug, Stacey (Craig) DeWyer, Louis Mamon, Wally Mamon III, Antolene (late Wayne) Courts, Lorrie Walker and John Tanzella; nine great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four sisters and one brother Elvira (late George) Panacci, William (Anna of Pinellas Park, FL) Julian, Charlotte (late Robert) Burton, Emma "Ann" Julian and Pearl Gervasi.

Friends may call on Friday from 2 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday May 1st at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
