" Lalla"
Adelaide "Lalla" R. (Serra) Trichilo, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away at her residence on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Born in Catanzaro, Italy she was the daughter of the late Modesto and Elizabeth (Anania) Serra.
Adelaide was raised and educated in Italy. She immigrated to Canada where she married Cosmo "Frank" Trichilo in 1957. Following their marriage, they moved to Niagara Falls, NY where she currently resided. She and her husband Frank owned and operated various popular Niagara Falls restaurants including; the former Frank's Lunch, Castle Court Restaurant, Villa Roma and Bit-O-Paris. Mr. Trichilo predeceased her on April 1, 1997. Lalla, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, was a member of the I.S.D.A. (Italian Sons and Daughters of America) Power City Lodge and the John Duke Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed spending her winters in Florida with her husband, knitting, flower gardening, cooking and baking. Lalla especially loved to cook and entertain her family and friends in her home.
Mrs. Trichilo is survived by two sisters Bettina (late Batista) Desumma and Ortensia (late Rino) Cesario both of Italy and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Tony (Betty of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada) Serra and John (Lena of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada) Serra.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane R. Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston MA 02241 or to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Drive, Suite 102, Amherst NY 14226.
