Adele T. (Christiano) Hallman, 74, of Franklinville, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY died on Monday April 11, 2011 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Old Forge, PA she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Chiodo) Christiano.
Adele moved to Niagara Falls, NY as a child with her family. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On May 10, 1958 she married James E. Hallman at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls, NY. She was employed as a clerk at the former Twin Fair and Gold Circle Discount Department Stores in the Town of Niagara and later at Sears in the Town of Wheatfield until her retirement in early 2000. Adele was a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (I.S.D.A.) Volare Lodge in Niagara Falls, NY. She was also a member of St. Philomena's Church in Franklinville, NY as well as their Altar and Rosary Society. Family was the most important thing to Adele and she especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of fifty two years, Adele is survived by three children, Debbie (Ken) Russell of Niagara Falls, NY; Janice (Jim) Busic and Jimmy Hallman both of Franklinville, NY; two granddaughters, Denise (Nathan) Halter and Rosemarie (Josh) Thomson, four great-grandchildren Christian, Douglas, Elliana and Cole, one sister Phyllis (Joe) Vekich of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday April 15th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY 14228.
