Loving Mother and Sitto
Peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. We bid farewell to Adeline E. "Della" (nee Wuytowicz) Shiah, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Josephine (Madej) Wuytowicz.
Della is survived by her three children, David Shiah of New Mexico, Norma Shiah and Nancy V. Shiah (Louis E. Fontana) both of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by her son Don T. Shiah. She was a special Sitto to, Sarah Shiah Backus (Adam Backus), Madeline Shiah, Morgan Shiah and Linnea Tilberg. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Kathy Shiah of Dunnville, Ontario, Canada and Karin Tilberg of Bowdoinham, ME; her sisters, Mildred "Molly" Pfeifer of Kenmore, NY and Julie (late Richard) Roulley of Niagara Falls, NY; her brother John (late Rita) Wuytowicz of Keuka Lake, NY and an extensive group of family and friends. She was also predeceased by her brother Matthew Wuytowicz and former husband, Abraham Shiah.
Della, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. She was a long-time employee of Kimberly Clark and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Niagara Falls. In her leisure time, Della enjoyed crocheting, gardening in her backyard as well as entertaining her family and friends at her kitchen table. She will be missed by an abundance of family and friends whose love has been felt across many miles, and for whose support we are forever grateful.
Sincere thanks to the many angels of Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Especially the staff of the 5th floor and ICU. Your kindness will be remembered forever. Our deepest thanks for making our time with you so special and caring for us all through this time.
