Adeline R. (Cicchetti) Vitale, 84 of Getzville, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday December 19, 2008 at Sisters Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Giovanni Cicchetti and Philomena 'Fannie' (Tirabassi) Cicchetti D'Amico, and step-daughter of Laurino D'Amico.

Adeline attended local schools in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1942. On October 6, 1951 she married Joseph A. Vitale in St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Vitale predeceased her on June 1, 1994. Adeline worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Niland DDS in Niagara Falls. Afterwards she worked as an office clerk at the former Kimberly Clark Co., and later as an office manager for Kirby of Niagara until her retirement in the late 1980's. Adeline was a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America Cataract Lodge # 248 and Niagara Falls Travel and Social Club. She was also a member of the Anime Santa Del Purgatorio Society and Madonna Del Perpetuo Soccorso Society both of St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. Adeline's greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mrs. Vitale is survived by her three children; JoAnne (Gordon) Claffey of the Town of Lockport, NY, Frances A. (Michael) Marinaccio of Getzville, NY and Thomas J. (Elisabetta) Vitale of Mississauga, Ontario, four grandchildren; Michael Joseph Marinaccio, Isabella, Joseph and Rosetta Vitale. Adeline was predeceased by one brother John Cicchetti, and is also survived by two sisters; Suzanne (Sam) Floro of Niagara Falls, NY, Donna (Tom) O'Leary of Lewiston, NY, one brother Louis 'Red' (Evelyn) D'Amico of Niagara Falls, NY, one uncle Alfred Tirabassi of California, one aunt Toni Tirabassi of Youngstown. NY, her sister-in-law Jennie Borgese of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Monday from 3-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Tuesday December 23rd at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY.
