Albert A. 'Big Al' Daniels, 86, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his beloved family on October 9, 2024. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Raffaele 'Ralph' and Assunta (Montanari) Daniels; and husband of 47 years to the late Lorraine (Woodward) Daniels.

Al was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School, where he was an accomplished athlete. A talented football player, state championship basketball player, and later a college football coach. Al earned his Bachelor and Master's degrees spanning from education he received at Niagara University, the University at Buffalo and UC Berkeley.

Al taught Physics at Lewiston Porter High School where he inspired many young scientific minds during his long teaching career. Following retirement, he continued to stay active by working for Coach USA as a coach driver, a job he loved. He was quickly promoted to a driver instructor and was the recipient of many awards throughout his 10 years of dedication. Al also built, owned and operated a motel and go-cart track on Niagara Falls Boulevard, Paradise Amusements, for several years during the 1970s. He was accomplished in graphic design and housing plans, an inventor and owner of a patent, and overall a true educator, businessman and entrepreneur.

Al was proud of his Italian heritage, and well known for his fantastic cooking skills and love of opera. He was an avid bowler, football fan, and enjoyed horseracing and traveling the country. Above all, he dedicated his life to his family, and in his golden years especially delighted in spending time with his beloved grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.

Mr. Daniels is survived by his children, Jennifer Daniels, Adrienne (Daniel) Spurio, Anthony Daniels and Joseph (Allison) Daniels; his grandchildren, Kameron, Colin, Owen, Lily and Lucas; his sister, Virginia (late Lloyd) Harpham, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Dominic, Joseph and Ralph Daniels.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 13 from 1 – 5 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNRAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin Monday at 10:15 AM, followed by Al's Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
