Obituary

Albert Choolokian, of Niagara Falls, was a man of many great talents. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law. He devoted his life to his family, his faith and in helping others whenever the need arose.

Albert served his church as a Eucharistic Minister for many years, alongside his wife Sylvia, in addition to serving as an Usher for the church. He also volunteered for many church functions, and even patented an arcade game called Roller Ball, that many children enjoyed at the Sacred Heart Church Family Fair, back in the day. As Albert became a member of various churches (St. Mary's, St. Raphels) he became involved in serving wherever he was needed.

Albert was also proud of his Armenian heritage. He and his entire family were sure to keep their heritage intertwined in their family life. Albert traveled to Armenia twice, visiting family and friends and enjoying the wonderful food and culture.

Albert was a professional Journeyman-Millwright by trade and was a valued member of various corporations in Niagara Falls. Albert used his vast skills to assist all of his family members whenever they called. If something needed to be solved, engineered or crafted, Albert was the man to call.

In retirement, Albert seemed to be even busier than when employed. He had many hobbies and volunteer activities, including volunteering in the Emergency room at St. Mary's hospital and at Artpark in Lewiston. Albert extended his heart to his fellow man and also to his fellow four legged friend. If there was a need, he was there to help.

Family was extremely important to Albert. Especially, since he grew up in an orphanage in New York City, he truly appreciated the family he built. When he found Sylvia, he found his soulmate and the two of them built a beautiful, loving, close knit family. Along with his wife, his surviving family includes a son, Glenn (Pamela) Choolokian, a daughter, Krista (Kevin) Swann and four beautiful grandchildren, Hope and Gadge Choolokian and Karina and Alex Swann.

Albert's kindness, generosity and quick wit will always be remembered. Albert certainly lived life to the fullest. Enjoying every day with his family – entertaining them with his endless stories and never ceasing energy. He will be sorely missed, but he will also be remembered in the hearts of those he touched. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
