Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather
Albert A. Renda, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday September 30, 2009 at N. F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Peter and Catherine (Chille) Renda.
Al was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army. On May 22, 1954 he married Catherine J. (Rosso) at St. John De LaSalle Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Al was employed as a machinist at Carborundum Company in Niagara Falls and retired in 1983 after forty years of service. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling. He also liked traveling and solving crossword puzzles, but most of all Al's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of fifty five years, Mr. Renda is survived by three children Robin C. (Peter) Paella of Lewiston, NY; Peter A. (late Susan) Renda of Springdale, AK and Larry J. Renda of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one son Charles C. Renda. Survivors also include nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters Joseph (late Pearl) Renda, Anthony (late Stella) Renda, Edith (late Anthony) DiGiore, Samuel Renda, Connie (late Joseph) DiGirolamo and Mary (late Joseph) Beningo.
Friends may call on Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday October 3rd at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert J. Hora officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY or to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo NY 14240-0631.
