Albert V. Shaffer, Sr., of Niagara Falls, NY died on Monday July 11, 2011 at N. F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Schultz) Shaffer.

Albert was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. He served in U.S. Air Force from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1961 and also in the Army National Guard. On February 4, 1967 he married Sandra (Trapasso) Shaffer in Niagara Falls, NY. Al was employed as a laborer at the Union Carbide in Niagara Falls as well as various other area companies. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and constructing model cars but most of all he liked participating in family activities.

In addition to his wife of forty four years, Mr. Shaffer is survived by five children Dawn (Charles) Tierney of Niagara Falls, NY; Tina (David) Ford of Tampa, FL; Anna (Richard) Geltz of Lockport, NY; Albert (Tina) Shaffer, Jr. and Leza (Thomas) Tierney both of Niagara Falls, NY; fourteen grandchildren, one great grandson and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers and sisters.
