Alexander P. "Pops" Pawlukovich, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Saturday October 10, 2009 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Westover, PA he was the son of the late Philip E. and Stella R. (Jarosiewicz) Pawlukovich. His wife Georgia (Kline) Pawlukovich predeceased him on December 28, 1982.

Alex was a graduate of Clearfield High School in Clearfield, PA and served in the United States Army from December 7, 1942 until his honorable discharge on February 5, 1946. He began working at General Electric in Erie, PA before moving to Niagara Falls, NY in the early 1950's. He then began working at Union Carbide in Niagara Falls until his retirement in the mid 1970's. Mr. Pawlukovich was a Scout Master with the Cub Scouts of America, a longtime member of the American Legion, and Moose Lodge in Niagara Falls, NY. Alex also coached football for the Police Athletic League, was a Cayuga Little League Baseball Volunteer, and an avid bowler.

Mr. Pawlukovich is survived by three children: Kenneth A. (Joan M. Paonessa) Pawlukovich of Niagara Falls, NY, Gary R. (Gail T. LeBrasseur) Pawlukovich of North Tonawanda, NY, Lori A. (Serge) Arutunjan of Niagara Falls, NY, and was predeceased by one son David B. Pawlukovich. He is also survived by six grandchildren Kari Lynn (Scott) Roy, Kenneth A. (Jennifer) Pawlukovich II, Phillip J. (Heather) Pawlukovich, Jennifer E. Arutunjan, Breann M. Pawlukovich, and Kevin D. Pawlukovich; seven great-grandchildren Michelle, Caroline, Phillip John, Maddison, Isabella, Juliana and Sophia; his sister Helen (late Steven) Shanechuck of Clearfield, PA and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Joseph (late Leona) Pawlukovich and a sister Mary (late John) Vesolowski.

Friends may call MONDAY 5 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY RD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Inc. 113 North Third St. Clearfield, PA where funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 14th at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Clearfield, PA.
