Alfreda Blackman, 62, formerly of Buffalo, NY, passed away on February 23, 2024 at her residence in Grand Island, NY.  Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Edna (Bell) Gault.

Alfreda graduated from Campus West School in Buffalo, NY.  In her younger years, Alfreda was a member of the St. John Church Choir in Buffalo, NY, and also enjoyed dancing and singing.  She loved working through People Inc., where she helped binding books and packaging dishes.

The family would like to acknowledge and show their appreciation to the aides and members of the People Inc. staff that showed Alfreda loving compassion and care during her time in the program.

Alfreda is survived by her siblings, Dwight 'Lamont' Gault, Robin Pettiway, Carol (late Sam) Robinson, Mary (late Ed) Morgan, Mark Gault, and Nicole (Christopher) Gault, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her aunt, Niecy Yancy, and uncle, Willie Lee.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1 from 11 – 1 PM at M.J.
