Anastasia Rosalie Rafter, age 6, passed away on July 22, 2022 at her home surrounded by the love of family and friends after fighting a courageous battle against brain cancer.

Born in Buffalo on April 8, 2016, she was the daughter of Lene'e Rosalie Gray and Brent M. Rafter. She was also the little sister of Chase J. Rafter.

Anastasia's outgoing personality was notable to everyone she crossed paths with. She loved meeting new people and quickly befriended them with her contagious spirit. Her outspokenness often made her loved ones laugh, as she was never afraid to say exactly what was on her mind. Singing and dancing were some of her favorite ways to spend time. She also enjoyed going for car rides and being outdoors. Her family shares many special memories of camping trips they took together. A true foodie, Anastasia loved to eat, especially chicken nuggets, and you could usually find her with a handful of snacks.

Fierce and strong are two words that best describe Anastasia. She never allowed her battle with cancer to hinder her enjoyment of life. She remained happy and positive despite the obstacles and challenges she faced. Time after time, she beat the odds in incredible ways, inspiring all those around her. Although she was blind, she lit up the world for those around her who couldn't help but see her amazing resilience.

Along with her parents and brother, Anastasia is survived by her grandparents, Gary Gray (Heather Thibeault), Lori Gray, and Diane Rafter; her maternal great-grandparents; her aunts and uncles; and a host of friends who have become family that will miss her dearly.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical staff at Buffalo Hospice, NYU, and the many care facilities that helped Anastasia throughout her journey.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 26 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304 where prayers will begin on Wednesday at 10 AM followed by Anastasia's funeral services at 11 AM at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, 6630 Luther St, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
