Angel M. Cartagena, 74, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on May 4, 2022 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Luis and Maria (Munoz) Cartagena.

Angel came to the United States with his family when he was 7 years old.  He was employed for 38 years in the Welding and Maintenance Departments at Destaco Stamping Plant in Auburn Hills, MI, prior to his retirement in 2009.  He relocated to the Niagara Falls area about 10 years ago with his family.  Angel loved to watch baseball, and also enjoyed watching wrestling.  He will be remembered for his down to earth and humble nature, as well as his generosity and giving heart.  He was very popular and loved by all.  He cherished his family more than anything.

Angel is survived by his children, Louis Cartagena, George Cartagena, and Sherry Cartagena; his grandchildren, Matthew (Brandy) Drobot, Angela Cartagena, Angel Cartagena, Hope Cartagena, Austin Henry, and Dustin Henry; his great-grandchildren, Kayala, Javon and Kahlani; his siblings, Carlos Cartagena, Johnny Cartagena, Hector Cartagena, Luis Cartagena, Migdalia Ovando, Margaret Cancel, Carmen Cartagena, and Gloria Cartagena, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
