Angelo Modica Amore, 82, of Town of Niagara, NY passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Buffalo General Hospital. Born and educated in Siculiana Province of Agrigento, Sicily, Italy he was the son of the late Vincent and Francesca (Pumo) Modica Amore.

Angelo moved to the United States with his family in 1971. He worked as a furnace operator at the former Airco Speer in Niagara Falls for over twenty seven years, and retired in 1998. Angelo enjoyed playing in the bocce league at Hyde Park in Niagara Falls and was very devoted the care and well being of his family. He also enjoyed tending to and working in his garden and was very proud of the results of his hard work.

Angelo is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Josephine Modica Amore; two sons, Vincent Modica Amore and Leonardo (Lori) Modica Amore, both of Niagara Falls, NY; his daughter Francine Modica Amore of Lewiston, NY; a sister Catherine (late John) Salemi of Long Beach, CA; a brother Pasquale (late Jovanna) Modica Amore of Italy, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Giuseppe Modica Amore.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 22nd from 2 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Rd. Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will begin Monday, February 23rd at 9:15 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewert Lindsay officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
