Angelo J. LaPorta, 95, of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2021. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late John and Vincenzina "Jennie" LaPorta; and the beloved husband of Joan A. (Remaley), who he married on October 19, 1973 in Mt. Carmel Church.
Angelo was graduate of Niagara Falls High School and attended the University at Buffalo. He was drafted into the United States Navy and served until his honorable discharge in 1946. Angelo was employed at DuPont in Niagara Falls for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1985.
Mr. LaPorta was an avid bowler at Rapids Bowling Center and was fan of the New York Yankees, as well as the Buffalo Bills. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his wife of 47 years, Mr. LaPorta is survived by his daughter, Paulette A. (Steven) Ziff and his grandchildren, Jacob and Ryan Ziff; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his cherished son, John R. LaPorta; and his siblings, Carmella (late William) Caprio, Louise (late Angelo) Incorvia, Joseph (late Nancy) LaPorta, Samuel (late Marilyn) LaPorta and Anna Marie (late John) McDonald.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 5 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 9:15 AM, followed by Angelo's Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27 th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
