Anita J. Shampine was called to her heavenly home on January 27, 2018.  She loved, and was loved by all those who knew her.  She lived in Niagara Falls, NY and was 85.  Anita was born on December 17, 1932 in Brasher Falls, NY, and was the daughter of the late David L. and Anna Mae (Mackie) Shampine.

Anita moved to the Niagara Falls area as a teenager with her family.  She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1950.  Anita began her career at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Afterwards she was employed at Niagara Orthopedics, and following her retirement, worked with the nuns at Stella Niagara Education Center.  Anita was a former member of the Altar Guild of St. Peters Episcopal Church and a current member of the Church of the Resurrection.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed watercolor painting, crossword puzzles and reading.  Above all, Anita will be remembered for her generous contributions to local charities and her love and devotion to her family.

Anita is survived by her two daughters: Rebecca E. (Dominick) Farbo and Lani M. (Rev. Dr. Peter) Emmons-Del Rio, four grandchildren, Cory M. Emmons, Cody J. Emmons, Mackenzie J. Farbo and Ellery Q. Farbo, her sister-in-law, Sonja Shampine as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband whom she married in 1955, Joseph Kishmoian, six sisters, Beulah M. Tucker-Wood, Elizabeth Tucker-Balazy, Kathleen Tucker, I. Joyce Mallory, Laurel M. Cross, Eleanor J. Shampine, and one brother David Shampine.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 – 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 31 ^st at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Peter Del Rio officiating.  Internment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
