Ann Behers, 87 of Niagara Falls was placed into the healing hands of our Heavenly Father on Wednesday February 18, 2009 at N.F. Memorial Medical Center after a short illness. Born on January 26th, 1922 she was the doting daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Scaletta) DiLeonardo, the loving sister of the late Charles (late Lena) DiLeonardo, Samuel (late Josephine) DiLeonardo, Nellie (late Russell) Previte, Joseph (late Sarah) DiLeonardo, Mary DiLeonardo, and sole surviving sister Rose (late Andrew) Yocco.
She was also the steadfast wife of the late Samuel "Buck" Behers, devoted mother of daughter Patricia Ann Behers of Niagara Falls, NY, caring aunt of nieces and nephews Carmy (Bob) Dabney of Louisville, KY; Carol (Anthony) Ruggeri of Boca Raton, FL; Charlene (Jay) Cash of Arizona; Russ Previte of North Tonawanda, NY and the late Dennis (Janice of Niagara Falls, NY) DiLeonardo and two more generations that follow. All of whom should be inspired by the life she endured.
Born with many dreams and artistic talents, Ann lived a life of service to others. She was an angel of mercy that responded to the call of her parents, sister, husband, and daughter while bringing the beauty of her song and the grace of her dancing feet to each of these long and difficult missions. She was also a caretaker of her nation as a WWII War Effort Worker and to faithful furry friends along the way. Ann was always ready with scrumptious cookies passing on family tradition, wonderful holiday centerpieces, and mostly her welcoming open arms. Her stunning beauty was increased by her good, strong, and determined heart.
The celebration of Ann's Life will be handled by the M.J.COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468 19th STREET, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where guests will be received from 2-4 pm on Sunday February 22nd where a funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Memorial donations may be made in honor of her daughter, Patty, to Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara, Sy Road Group Home, 6821 Sy Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
Special thanks to her dedicated and tender caretaker, Minnie Swanson who stayed with her, prayed with her, and loved her deeply like a grandmother. Also to all of the special nurses who cared for during her hospital stay. Ann lived and loved fully her every blessing and we are thankful for sharing her life.
