Anne M. (Butera) Ricotta of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday February 24, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Neid) Butera.

A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, Anne attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. While attending high school, she worked in the rectory of St. Joseph Church with Msgr. Tronolone and Rev. Lombardo and following high school she was employed as a cashier at the former Strand Theater on Falls Street in Niagara Falls. On July 21, 1951 she married Mario A. Ricotta at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. Anne was employed at Kimberly Clark Corporation for sixteen years and later as a secretary at the Charles Butera Insurance agency in Niagara Falls. She was a longtime devout member of St. Joseph Church as well as a life member of the Ladies of Charity where served as vice president and secretary. Anne was in charge of the layettes for the children program that assisted the clothing needs of Catholic Charities. She also volunteered for the annual Catholic Charities appeal and for the church's weekly Bingo games. Anne especially looked forward to the annual feast of St. Joseph and getting together with other women for weeklong food preparations for the feast day. The church activities created lifelong friendships especially at the Holy Name Society where Anne was also an active member.

In addition to her husband of fifty eight years, Anne is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters Charles (Mildred of Niagara Falls, NY) Butera, William Butera, Rose Butera and Jessie (late Edward) Barefoot.

Friends may call on Friday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday February 27th at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
