Anne (Matteucci) Trapasso, 96, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away Friday January 30, 2009 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Colle Di Compito, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Paris and Alida (DalPorto) Matteucci. Her husband, Albert Trapasso, predeceased her in 1977.

Anne came to Niagara Falls, NY as a young child with her family and attended local schools. She worked at the former Nabisco Shredded Wheat in Niagara Falls, and later assisted with the operation of her husband's family store, the former Trapasso's Dry Goods Store, also in Niagara Falls. For over twenty years, Mrs. Trapasso was a volunteer in the gift shop at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls, and member of their St. Francis Guild. Anne was also a member of the John Duke Senior Center in Niagara Falls, and in her leisure time, enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Mrs. Trapasso is survived by her son Thomas A. (Celia Dean) Trapasso, Sr. of Lewiston, NY; three grandchildren; Lori (Vincent) Laurendi, Thomas A. (Lisa) Trapasso, Jr., Linda (David) Kok; ten great-grandsons, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Trapasso was also predeceased by her brother Gino Matteucci.

Friends may call Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Tuesday February 3rd at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. and Independence Ave., Niagara Falls, NY with the Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
