God only takes the best on Christmas and Easter  

Anthony "Tony" Forgione, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 in N.F. Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by his beloved family by his side. Born in Prezza, Abruzzi, Italy on December 23, 1932, he was the son of the late Cesare and Silvina (Pasquale) Forgione.

Tony came to Canada on April 25, 1949 and moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1955. He married the love of his life, Agata (Ferrelli) Forgione, in Niagara Falls, Ontario on January 15, 1955. She predeceased him on October 20, 2012, after 57 memorable years together.

Tony was a member of the Laborers Local 91, and worked for Gross Contracting for over 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was also a longtime parishioner of the Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, a member and past president of the Cristoforo Colombo Society for over 50 years. Prior to the Covid Epidemic Tony enjoyed Bocce, meeting his friends at McDonald's daily, making prosciutto, gardening, going to the Casino, playing cards and talking history.

Mr. Forgione is survived by his son, Cesare (MaryAnn) Forgione and his daughter, Sylvia (Guido) Virtuoso both of the Town of Niagara. He is the Papa of Cristina (Aaron) Roszel and Diana (Dan) DiNardo; Tatone to his great-grandchildren, Zachary and Vivi DiNardo, Ellia and Carson Roszel. He is also survived by his brother, Francesco (Modesta); sisters, Elena (late Cesare) and Anna (Domenico) of Italy, Assunta (late Ennion) of Brampton, Ontario; his sister-in-law, Antonietta Ferrelli Pesce (late Aldo) of Italy, as well as several dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly. Tony was predeceased by his sisters, Concetta Ferrelli and Clara (late Elio) Rosatone.

Tony will be remembered as a generous man to everyone. His final gift to others was through ConnectLife as a tissue donor.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 21 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Friday at 11:15 AM, followed by Tony's Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
