Anthony John Friona, 83, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away November 16, 2012 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. He was the son of the late Nazzareno and Anna (Porreca) Friona.

Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. he attended Niagara Falls High School and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Buffalo. Tony started his 42 year career with work at Bell Aerospace in Wheatfield, NY, advancing to the position of Director of Marketing, and later for Atlantic Research, as Assistant General Manager. On December 2, 1950 he married Evelyn Friona nee (Figler) in St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. In 1998, they relocated to Stuart, FL, where Tony served on the Pierpoint Condominium Board of Directors, and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Parish. Mrs. Friona predeceased him on March 30, 2006.

Anthony Friona is survived by three children, Michael Friona (Michelle Weinstein) of Buffalo, NY, Joseph (Paula) Friona of Steubenville, OH, and Anthony Friona (Amy Franco) of Buffalo, NY and by three grandchildren, Lauren Fales, Stephen Fales, and Lettie Eve Friona; his sister Rosemarie (Kevin) Stack of Youngstown, NY, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Maria (Ralph) Fales of Santiago Chile, and infant daughter, Linda, and infant son, Tommy. Tony was also predeceased by his brother, John (Dora) Friona of Lewiston, NY.

Mr. Friona's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday December 1, 2012 from 9:15 -10:00 a.m. at St. Peter R.C. Church, 620 Center St., Lewiston, NY where a Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Zuffoletto officiating.
