Anthony Previte, 71, of Amherst, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Beechwood Continuing Care in Amherst, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Domenic and Martha (Borgese) Previte.
Anthony attended local Niagara Falls schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. On September 19, 1964 he married Ellen (Schultz) Previte at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. He was employed as an Industrial Salesman at Ferguson Enterprises in Buffalo and IDS – Lakes Pipe Supply in Niagara Falls until his retirement in 2004. Anthony was a long time member of St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls and involved with their Outreach Program. He was also an active volunteer and troop leader with the Boy Scouts and volunteer for the Amherst Senior Center Meals on Wheels program. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills.
In addition to his wife of forty nine years, Anthony is survived by three children, Michael Previte of Rochester, NY; David (Michele) Previte of Syracuse, NY and Kathleen (David) Yermas of E. Amherst, NY; eight grandchildren, Domenic and Margaret Previte; Joshua, Jessica and Jacob Previte; Anthony, Mia and Domenic Yermas; two sisters, Esther (John) Tweedie of Lewiston, NY; Alberta (James) Bodecker of Williamsville, NY and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one brother Peter (Elaine of Niagara Falls, NY) Previte.
Visitation will be on Friday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday September 21st at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northeast Kidney Foundation, 110 Broadway Street, Buffalo, NY 14203 or to Hospice of Buffalo Foundation, 225 Como Park Boulevard, Buffalo, NY 14227.
