Anthony Rocco, 94, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Tuesday July 27, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Filomena Rocca.

Tony was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. On June 3, 1939 he married Jennie (Gullo) Rocco at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Rocco predeceased him on December 22, 1996. He was employed at Suspension Bridge Bottling Company and as the production manager at the Seven-Up Bottling Company in Niagara Falls and later in their Buffalo branch and retired in the late 1970's after thirty years of service. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the John Duke Senior Center both in Niagara Falls, NY.

Tony was a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls serving as an usher for 65 years, and a member of their St. Vincent DePaul Society for 55 years and the Holy Name Society for 50 years where he served one term as president. Anthony was also a volunteer worker for their Bingo committee for twenty years and served on the board of Boy Scout Troop #36 which was affiliated with St. Joseph Church. In 1980 he was awarded the St. Joseph the Worker Award from Bishop Edward Head of the Diocese of Buffalo for his dedication and service to the church and in 1984 he was the recipient of the Cittadini Speciale Award from the Pine Avenue Business Association. Most important to Anthony was his family and friends who he centered his life around and enjoyed spending time with.

Anthony is survived by one son Joseph A. (Linda) Rocco of Youngstown, NY; three grandchildren Damian J. Rocco, Danielle (Jason) D'Arcangelo and Dana L. Rocco, three great grandchildren Kyle, Andrew and Natalie and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister Rose (late Joseph) Coscia.

Visitation will be on Friday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday July 31st at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. The Knights of Columbus Council #247 will conduct a service on Friday at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
