Anthony M. Rufrano, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on June 4th, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston, N.Y. Anthony was born on June 26, 1932, in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Rose (LaPorta) and Michael Rufrano.
Anthony attended local schools, graduated from Niagara Falls High School and joined the Air Force Reserve. Over his life Anthony worked at Whitworth Motors, operated a wholesale car business and was employed by Sears and Roebuck until he retired in 2007. Long known for his sense of humor, Anthony was a horse racing fan who enjoyed spending time with old friends at OTB. He was an avid Buffalo Bills supporter and a lover of movies and music from the big band era.
Anthony is survived by his two children, Anthony (Hope) Rufrano of Long Beach, California and Karen (Mario) Critelli of Sebastian, Florida; grandchildren Rachel and Veronica Rufrano, Genna Critelli and Nicole (Buddy) Munroe; one brother Michael (Barbara) Rufrano and his sisters Carol (Walt) Nichols, Patricia Rufrano and the late Mary (Benedict) D'Apollo. He is also survived by his longtime partner of 30 years Patty Marinik and his extended family Vicky, Jim and Nicholas DuQuette and Gary, Taylor and Scott Snyder.
There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Anthony's life will be held on June 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Church, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
