Anthony P. Scricco, Sr., 83, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday August 14, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Alexander and Frances (Pitaressi) Scricco.

Anthony was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. He served in the United States Navy at the end of World War II from 1946 until his honorable discharge in 1947. On November 27, 1948 he married Frances M. (Ingalls) Scricco at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Scricco predeceased him on September 28, 2011after sixty two years of marriage. Tony, as he was also known, worked many years as an insurance agent for both the Metropolitan and Prudential insurance companies in Niagara Falls. He also served on the Niagara Falls Zoning Board and was a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society in Niagara Falls. Tony was also the recipient of the Pine Avenue Business Association "Cittadini Speciali" Award, the special citizen award given annually to senior citizens. Anthony was an avid golfer and also enjoyed woodworking and RCA planes. However, Tony's greatest passion in life was music. He especially loved the music of Frank Sinatra and was well known and highly recognized singer who performed at numerous venues throughout the Niagara Falls area.

Mr. Scricco is survived by his three sons, William Scricco of Niagara Falls, NY; Alexander (Marianne) Scricco of Peoria, AZ; Anthony (Christine) Scricco, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one son Mark Scricco. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters Rosalie Vecchies of Arizona and Joanne (Arthur) Schinaman of North Carolina, several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dogs who he adored. He was also predeceased by one sister Lucy (late James) Craig.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend Memorial Mass on Saturday August 24th at 10:00 a.m. at St. John de La Salle Church 8469 Buffalo Avenue Niagara Falls, NY. It was Anthony's wishes to have his body donated to the University of Buffalo for anatomical studies and medical research. Submitted by M.J.
