Anthony F. Silvaggi, Jr., 89, of North Olmsted, OH, and formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Anthony F. and Lucy Ann Silvaggi; and beloved husband of the late Anna A. (Scalfani) Silvaggi.

Anthony graduated from Niagara Falls High School and enlisted in the United States Marines in 1951. He served as a Corporal until his honorable discharge in 1954. Anthony was employed as an Electron Microscopist for over 33 years at Union Carbide in Niagara Falls, and later transferred to their location in Parma, Ohio prior to his retirement. He was a gifted athlete in his younger years and enjoyed playing baseball, football, basketball, as well as bowling. In his later years, he coached many championship winning softball teams in Ohio. Mr. Silvaggi was also an avid gardener and a lover of dogs, especially his poodles.

In addition to his wife and parents, Anthony was predeceased by his siblings, Louis Silvaggi and Norine C. (Silvaggi) Gregg. He is survived by his dedicated care provider, Nana A. Osborne, whom he greatly appreciated; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 10 – 11 A.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors.
