Anthony T. Rick, Sr., 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away suddenly on Monday November 16, 2020. Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Ester (Allen) Rick.
Tony attended local schools and clubs until he was drafted into the Vietnam War in 1967. He was discharged in 1971 and settled down in Niagara Falls, NY.
Coming from a family of locksmiths, Tony opened Cataract Safe and Lock in 1983 also known as Beeton's Safe & Lock Co. and Beeton's Cyclery where his sons David and Jeff along with longtime family friend John Garner work and operate the business today. A life-long fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Atlanta Braves, he spent his spare time coaching teams for Cayuga Little League Baseball. He eventually became president of the organization during his 20-year career. He enjoyed golfing, going to the casino, and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his wife of 52 years Barbara J. (nee Laufer) Rick, his sons Tony (Sandy DeGroat) Rick, David (Mary nee Burns) Rick, and Jeffrey (Melanie nee Tuepah) Rick. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Anthony Rick, Steven (Hannah) Rick, Timothy (Samantha) Rick, Sally and Adam Rick, and Isabella Rick, along with his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Hunter, Peyton, and Mason Rick. He's also survived by his brothers Joe (late Beverly) Rick, Jimmy (Judy) Rick, Leo (late Annelise) Rick, Mike (Marge) Rick, Tom (Francine) Rick and his sisters Donna (late Bill) Black, Mary (late John) Weiss, Annie (Steve) O'Hanessian, and Gussie (Paul) Stefano, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Dinny (Sandy) Rick and sister Terry (late George) McKenna.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19th from 4 - 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Tony's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Please assemble at church.
