Anthony "Tony" J. LaRosa, Jr., 69, of Lewiston, NY was called by God to join Him in heaven on Saturday May 16, 2015. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Violet (DiGirolamo) LaRosa, Sr.
Tony moved with his family to Lewiston, NY in 1977 and worked as a pipefitter with DuPont in Niagara Falls, retiring after 25 years of service. During that time he also owned and operated Greenspire Landscaping Co. from 1977 until 2000. Tony along with his family founded the St. Jude Shrine in Lewiston, NY. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 247 in Niagara Falls, and member of the Niagara Frontier Country Club. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and had a great interest in all sports. In his younger years, Tony passionately coached Lew-Port Youth Football.
Tony's love and compassion for people made him unforgettable and he will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace, as his memory forever lives in our hearts.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn "Kathy" (Osypian) LaRosa. He is the devoted father of, Anthony "Tony" (Karen) LaRosa and Lisa (Cary) O'Donoghue both of Lewiston, NY; proud grandfather of, Maxwell, Matthew, Madison, and Hunter; dear brother of, Joanne LaRosa of Niagara Falls, NY; brother-in-law of, Nancy (Charles) Schwartz of Amherst, NY, Thomas (Christine) Osypian of St. Cloud, FL and Kim (Bruce) Klementowski of Boston, NY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Rd. Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday May 21st at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's RC Church 218 Hinman St. Youngstown, NY with Msgr. J. Thomas Moran officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers memorials offerings may be made to St. Jude Shrine, P.O. Box 215, 975 Ridge Rd. Lewiston, NY 14092.
