Antoinette C. (Cirrito) Cacchio, 88 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday January 1, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Rose (Cicero) Cirrito.
Antoinette was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High. On September 4, 1948, she married Nicholas F. Cacchio in St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. During the late 1940's, Antoinette worked at the former Nabisco Shredded Wheat in Niagara Falls, and later on in life the food service department at Niagara University. She was a longtime devoted parishioner of the former St. Charles Borromeo Church in Niagara Falls, as well a member of their Altar and Rosary Society. Above all, Antoinette was a devoted homemaker and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, she is survived by her two children, Donna (Stanley Pikul) Morello of Tonawanda, NY and Leonard (Diane) Cacchio of Lees Summit, MO, three grandchildren, Jeannine (Kevin) Samm Bethin, Jennifer Cacchio and Michelle Cacchio, one great- grandson, Nathan Bethin, two sisters, Josephine Cirrito of Lewiston, NY, Marie (late Donald) Russell of Niagara Falls, NY her brother, Samuel (Joan) Cirrito of Wheatfield, NY as well as several nieces, nephews and cousin. She was also predeceased by one sister, Leatrice (late Joseph) Anastasi.
Antoinette's family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the nurses and staff of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence for the compassionate care Antoinette received during her time there.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 4th from 10 - 11:15 a.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will begin at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph's Church 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY 805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221.
