Antonia 'Toni' Fusillo, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2024 at Northgate Health Care Facility in Wheatfield, NY.  Born in Paddockwood, Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Barbara (Turuk) Sawchuk.

Toni was educated in Canada, attending schools in St. Catherines, Ontario.  In 1953, she came to the United States, and on April 25, 1953, she married Michael J. Fusillo, Sr. in Niagara Falls, NY.  Mr. Fusillo predeceased her on March 20, 2005.  In 1974, Toni earned her degree in nursing from Niagara County Community College and was employed as a registered nurse at Mt. St. Mary's in the Maternity Ward and for other local practices for over 10 years.  She also worked as the Business Manager for WJJL Radio during the 1980s.   Toni was a parishioner of Prince of Peace Church, where she served as secretary of the Altar and Rosary Society.  She also volunteered at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital.  An avid reader, Toni also enjoyed playing in her "card club" since 1956, where she became an expert in 7 Hand Rummy.  Above all, Toni cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Toni is survived by her children, Glenna (James) Schindler, Michael J. Fusillo, Jr., Patrick L. (Cindy) Fusillo, and Felicia B. Walerowicz;  her grandchildren, Christopher (Wendy) Schindler, David (Julia) Schindler, Brandy Gore, Robert Fusillo, Thomas (Melissa) Fusillo, Ryan (Chanel) Walerowicz, Nathan Walerowicz, and Joshua Walerowicz; seven great-grandchildren, her cousin Toni (late Bob) Srbljanin, her in-laws, Mary Ann (late Louis) Destino and Peter (Jan) Fusillo, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband of 51 years, she was predeceased by her siblings, Nicholas (late Beverly) Sawchuk and Michael (late Maxine) Sawchuk, as well as many of her in-laws in the Fusillo family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16 from 11 AM – 12 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, 14304, where Antonia's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 PM.  Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Lupus Foundation, https://www.lupus.org/.  Arrangements by M.J.
