Antonio  Paonessa, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY  passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Born on January 25, 1931 in Pentone, Province of Cantanzaro, Calabria, Italy he was the son of the late Tommaso and Maria (Lice) Paonessa.

Tony was raised and attended local schools in Italy.  On June 21, 1952 he married Angiolina F. (Marino) Paonessa in their home town in Italy.  Together with family they moved to the United States on January 13, 1966 and settled in Niagara Falls, NY.

Since the early 1970's Tony has been the proprietor of Paonessa Construction Company, a masonry business serving Niagara County for over 40 years.   Mr. Paonessa enjoyed gardening, winemaking and meat curing.  Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family who affectionately called him Toto.

In addition to his wife of 66 years, he is survived by his 4 children, Concettina (Bernard) Rotella, Maurizio J. (Maria T. Buzzeo) Paonessa, Joseph N. (Cathy Skurzewski) Paonessa and Antonella Paonessa; 7 grandchildren, Anthony (Jamie) Rotella, Marisa (Joe) Sparacino, Gabrielle Paonessa, Adriana Paonessa, Marcanthony Paonessa, Gennaro Villella, Maria Villella and step grandson Michael Villella.  Antonio is also survived by 5 siblings in Italy and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Paonessa was predeceased by 2 siblings.

There will be NO PRIOR VISITATION.  Antonio's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 5 ^th at 12:30 P.M. in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
