Arlene Mary (Prue) Bauer, 84, of the Town of Niagara passed away on Thursday July 3, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Mary (Boal) Prue.
Arlene was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls, NY area and attended local schools. On June 25, 1958 she married Frederick Richard Bauer at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Bauer predeceased her on May 27, 1977. Arlene was employed as a furnace operator at the Carborundum Co. Globar Division in Niagara Falls for thirty four years. She was a member and served as a past president of the Niagara Active Hose Ladies Auxiliary in the Town of Niagara. Arlene was an excellent cook and baker. She also loved to travel.
Arlene is survived by five children Arlene Lynn (Andersen)(Sam) Jyawook of Michigan, Frederick (Barbara) Bauer of Buffalo, NY, Theodore (Angela) Bauer, Kathleen (John) Keller and Patrick (Laura McGarvey) Bauer all of Niagara Falls, NY; sixteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; four sisters Dorothy (Louis) Laurie, Phyllis (Don) Fending, Judy (Rich) Sirianni and Linda (Thomas) Fending and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th from 4 – 8:00 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be begin on Tuesday, July 8th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Andrew Lauricella officiating. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
