Armand Forgione, 78, of the Town of Lewiston, died on Wednesday April 1, 2009 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Camerata) Forgione.

Armand, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, attended local schools and later Alfred State College in Alfred, NY where he earned an Associate's Degree. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1954. In 1992 he married Elizabeth (Heeney) Bondi Forgione at St. John de LaSalle Church, Niagara Falls, NY. Armand was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in Niagara Falls, NY and retired in the late 1980's after thirty years of service. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Notre Dame fan.

In addition to his wife, Armand is survived by three daughters Dr. Lisa Forgione, Maria (Michael) Spicer and Lorianne (Jason) Sword all of North Carolina; three step children Patrick (Mary) Bondi, Christopher Bondi and Holly (Mark) Warren, thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two sisters Mary (Robert) Maelloro Moore of California and Anita (Anthony) Tavano of Tennessee; two brothers Frank (Carmella) Forgione and Anthony (Lois) Forgione both of Niagara Falls, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Armand is also survived by a large loving extended family who will remember him as a kind and loving family man.

Friends may call on Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday April 4th at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John de LaSalle Church, 8469 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Slawomir Siok, SAC officiating. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Donations in Mr. Forgione's name may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
