Assunta C. Colavecchia, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully on March 6, 2017 in Lewiston, NY. Born in Limosano, Compo Bosso, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Concetta (DeDario) Frosolone.

On February 11, 1946, Assunta married Angelo Colavecchia in Limosano, Italy and later moved to Niagara Falls in 1955. They spent 51 loving years together until his passing on May 28, 1997. Assunta was employed in the Housekeeping Department of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for over 32 years until her retirement in 1986. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, knitting, tending to her garden but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Colavecchia is survived by her children Frank (Laura) Colavecchia and Saturna "Cindy" (Paul) Williams; grandchildren, Gina Colavecchia, Michelle Colavecchia, Frank Colavecchia, Tina (Tom) Rodriguez, Angela (James) VanEgmond; great-grandchildren Alera, Kylee, Keena, Jackson, Reyes, James and Brayden; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Assunta was predeceased by her brother Victor (Florence) Frosolone.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, March 11 ^th at 10:00 A.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date to be announced at the convenience of the family. Memorial offerings may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
