Assunta 'Sue' (Aubert) Tecchio, 100, of Niagara Falls, NY went to meet the Lord surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Amerigo and Teresa (Cavichioni) Aubert.

Assunta was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. On January 12, 1934 she married Michael Tecchio at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Tecchio predeceased her on January 1, 1970. During World War II she worked at the former National Carbon in Niagara Falls, NY and later during the 1960's and 1970's she was employed at the Niagara Falls Wax Museum and Souvenir Shop in the old downtown Niagara Falls, NY. Sue, as she was affectionately also known, volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and was a bugler for various Girl Scout ceremonies. Sue liked traveling to Italy and California and spending time at the family cabin in Greenwood, NY. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. But Assunta's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. She loved to cook homemade gnocchi and spaghetti as well as bake desserts for all her family gatherings.

Sue is survived by three children Jacqueline T. (Hon. John P.) Teixeira of the Town of Niagara, Veto Michael (Eileen) Tecchio, Terese A. Koch both of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one daughter Alessandra 'Sandy' M. (John of Lewiston, NY) DiBacco. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren Deborah (Kelly) London, Kathleen (Sean) Edwards, Teresa Carter, John (Kathi) Teixeira, Michael (Dawn) Teixeira, Thomas (Sharon) Teixeira, David (Nancy) DiBacco, Karen (John) Wayda, Jennifer Tecchio, Patricia Moje and Timothy Koch, twenty four great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, her special nieces and nephews Pat (late Ollie) Clark, Kathy (Frank) Quaranta. Donald Cirillo, (late Ruben) Shirley Cirillo and one sister-in-law Phyllis (late Samuel) Tecchio of Niagara Falls, NY and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives in Ascoli, Piceno, Italy. She was predeceased by three brothers Renato 'Tony' (late Jennie) Aubert, Dominic (late Angie) Aubert and Peter (late Amelia) Aubert, two sisters Anna (late John) Saad and Emma (late Joseph) Cirillo.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday August 16th at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Assunta Tecchio may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by M.J.
