Barbara A. Aleksiejuk, 74, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on July 18, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Thorold, Ontario Canada, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Mary B. (Stachura) Broda.

Barbara came to the United States with her family as a child.  She was a graduate of Stella Niagara High School.  On August 17, 1968, she married Bogdan 'Bob' M. Aleksiejuk at Holy Trinity R. C. Church in Niagara Falls, NY.  Barbara was employed at her family restaurant, John's Club, and later worked at John's Flaming Hearth. She then opened Culbert's Hotel in LaSalle, which she owned and operated for 25 years until her retirement in 2004.  In 2002, she was awarded the LaSalle Business and Professional Organization Business of the Year Award.  Barbara loved word search puzzles, cooking, gardening, and cleaning.  She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, Barbara is survived by her children, John M. Aleksiejuk, Jacqueline Aleksiejuk, and Kelly L. (Paul) Aleksiejuk Bearden; her grandchildren, Kaelea Aleksiejuk, Sophie Aleksiejuk, Aleksander Bearden, and Anna Bearden; her great-grandson, Angel; her brother, John (Maryann) Broda; her aunts, Irene (late Danny) Charkowy and Jean (late Donald) Smith, as well as several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barbara's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 12 at 9:15 AM at Our Lady of Victory Basilica, 767 Ridge Road, Lackawanna, NY 14218.  Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, at approximately 11:00 AM.
