Barbara Baker, 75, of Niagara Falls passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Elderwood at Grand Island Healthcare Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Gulczynski) Monczynski.
Barbara resided in Niagara Falls most of her life and attended local schools. She worked for the former Bell Telephone, now Verizon, as a project assigner and retired following thirty years of service. Barbara enjoyed pottery work, music and traveling. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club. Barbara's joy was spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Annette (James) D'Albenzio; loving nieces, Linda (Keith) Hrotko, Donna (Russell) Doane, Nancy (Mark) Major, Susan (Mark) Pino, Leann D'Albenzio and dear nephew, Michael Ostrozynski. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, late Dolores (late William) Ostrozynski.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, May 2nd from 4 – 7 PM at M.J COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Barbara's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Stephens RC Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of Flowers, memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association. Visit
