Barbara P. (Lamaspi) Magliarditi, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday January 6, 2011 at her residence. Born in Lockport, NY she was the daughter of the late Mario and Ernestine (Bianco) Lamaspi.

Barbara was raised in Lockport, NY and graduated from high school in 1949. On September 4, 1954 she married Frank A. "Butch" Magliarditi at St. Anthony's Church in Lockport and together they moved to the Niagara Falls area where she lived until the present time. Mr. Magliarditi predeceased her on March 30, 1998. Barbara was employed as a clerk and insurance writer for the Prudential Insurance Company in Buffalo, NY as well as the Allen Insurance Agency in Niagara Falls, NY, and retired from Alexander and Alexander Insurance Company also in Buffalo, NY. In her leisure time Barbara enjoyed sewing and crossword puzzles. She was a fabulous cook and was well known for her meatballs, sauce and cutlets. Barbara's greatest devotion in life was to her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Magliarditi is survived by her two daughters, Michele A. Sesto of Niagara Falls, NY and Deborah A. (Thomas) Laurendi of Lewiston, NY; three grandchildren, Jennifer Sesto, Marina Laurendi and Michael Laurendi, two sisters Gloria (late John Slyster and Rita (late Calvin) Johnston both of Odessa, FL and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one brother Arthur Lamaspi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday January 10th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
