Obituary

Beatrice "Bea" M. (Adriatico) Licata, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY entered peacefully into eternal rest at home on Saturday March 27th, 2010 after a lengthy illness while under the care of her loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Beatrice (Moceri) Adriatico.

Beatrice attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1944. She then worked for several years at the former Carborundum Corporation Globar Division in Niagara Falls, NY until starting her family. On October 11, 1952 she married Agatino W. Licata at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Licata predeceased her on January 23, 2003 after fifty years of marriage. Beatrice's family was the focal point of her life and she always placed her family's needs above her own. Bea loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren and extended family. She loved to bake, and was especially talented at making canolli's. Bea was a voracious reader and also enjoyed crossword puzzles. She possessed an engaging smile and was kind to all.

Beatrice is survived by her daughter Diana (Michael) Kachurek, her two sons, Samuel (Eileen "Kathy") Licata, and John A. Licata all of Niagara Falls; her four grandchildren Sara Kachurek, Matthew and Natalie Licata, and Jessica Zortman. She is also survived by her brother Rocco (Lee) Adriatico of Niagara Falls, NY, sister-in-law Dee (the late Joseph) Adriatico of Niagara Falls, sister-in-law Marie (Ted) Hadley of Lockport, brother-in-law Francis (Patricia) Licata of Gasport, and brother-in-law Pasquale (Lorelei) Licata of South Carolina. She is also survived by her many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 3 – 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Tuesday March 30th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. and Independence Ave., Niagara Falls, with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute for Ovarian Cancer Research, Earl Bridges Library, Niagara Hospice, or to a charity of one's choice.
