Benito "Joe" G. Rotella, 72, of Gasport, NY, died on Monday March 22, 2010 at Inter-Community Hospital in Newfane, NY. Born in Tiriola, Italy he was the son of the late Domenico and Emma (Badolato) Rotella.

Joe immigrated to the United States in 1956 and settled in Niagara Falls, NY. In 1961 he married Sandra J. (Zornes) Rotella at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. Together they have lived in Gasport, NY for the past twenty seven years. Joe was a member of Laborers Local Union #91 in Niagara Falls, NY for the past forty five years, and worked as a laborer for various construction projects throughout the area. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, and especially loved tending to his garden and working on his farm.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Rotella is survived by six children, Dominick Rotella of Goodyear, AZ; Emma Rotella of Gasport, NY; Theresa Rotella of Newfane, NY; Tina (Jeff) Costich of Barker, NY; Louis Rotella and Sara (Ben) Aguilara both of Gasport, NY; six grandchildren, Kaitlin, Megan, Joseph, Noah, Sawyer Lucas and Ross, one sister Catherine (Anthony) Talarico of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by a sister Rosina (Liborio of Niagara Falls, NY) Talarico, as well as one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday March 27th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. James Hassett officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
