Bernice A. DeFazio, 88, formerly of Youngstown, NY, passed away on September 12, 2024 at Northgate Healthcare Facility in North Tonawanda, NY.  Born in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late George Turchan and the late Elizabeth (Uhrin) Beniac.

Bernice attended local schools in Canada, where she graduated from High School. On July 2, 1966, she married Donald M. DeFazio at St. Ann's Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario.  Mr. DeFazio predeceased her on December 26, 2021.  Bernice was employed side by side with her husband for 50 years as Office Manager for their business, Mr. D's Hair World in Niagara Falls and Williamsville, NY.

Bernice is survived by her niece Jodi (David) Dilling, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.   In addition to her husband of 55 years, she was predeceased by her siblings, Judith (late Joseph) Kordik, Edward J. (Ruth) Turchan, and an infant sister, Olga Turchan.

Mrs. DeFazio's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 10:00 AM in St. Raphael Parish, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14305. Interment will be held privately in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Canada.
