Betty (Oschip) Incorvia, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Saturday September 25, 2010 at Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Idmar, PA she was the daughter of the late Metro and Piza Oschip.
Betty attended schools in Clymer, PA and graduated from Clymer High School in 1946. In 1946 she moved to Niagara Falls, NY where she lived until the present time. Following World War II she was employed at the former Kimberly Clark Corp and at the Carborundum Co. both in Niagara Falls. Betty later became a banquet server for the Hilton Hotel and hostess at John's Restaurant both in Downtown Niagara Falls until she retired in 1978. While working in the hotel and restaurant business, she was the business agent for ten years of Local #66 currently known as Local #4 and attended arbitration courses at Niagara University. Betty was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Niagara Falls as well as their Altar and Rosary Society.
Betty loved to play Bingo, sew and play the violin. She served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Vice President of the P.T.A. and was also a member of the commission to build 60th Street Elementary School and indoor pool. Betty was a "people person" who loved her family and everyone she met.
Betty is survived by four children, Barbara Ann (late Phil) Dirhbergh of Hobe Sound, FL; Linda E. Casper of Crescent City, FL; Joseph J. Incorvia of Palm Coast, FL and Marie Walters of Dunnellon, FL; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, one sister Eva (late Larry) Rutzel of Madison, OH; two brothers Tony (Betty) Oschip and Harry (Gloria) Oschip both of East Lake, OH and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one granddaughter Sherri Ann Casper, her former husband Dominic J. Incorvia, four brothers Metro (Toni) Oschip, John Oschip, Nick Oschip and Mike (late Helen) Oschip, three sisters Kay (Mike of Niagara Falls, NY) Bluey, Mary (late Bill) Taczak and Ann (late Pat) Muscarella.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday September 29th from 9 – 11 a.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
