Billy Smith, 65, a member of the Tuscarora Nation Turtle Clan, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022 at his residence in Lewiston, NY.

Billy was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School.  On November 21, 1981, he married Joanie (Patterson) Smith in Lewiston, NY.  Billy was a member of the Painters & Sandblasters Union Local #65 in Niagara Falls for over 35 years.  He also worked with the Painters and Sandblasters Union Local #4 in Buffalo, NY.  He enjoyed playing football and basketball in his younger years, and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills.  He loved sitting outside and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of 40 years, Billy is survived by his mother, Elaine (Hill) Smith; his children, Cleyton Smith, Alana Smith, Meagan Smith (Monroe Powless) and Nolan Smith; his grandchildren whom he loved spending time with, Liam Reading, Cali Powless, and Penelope Reading; his siblings, Ronald (Janice) Smith and Tess Printup-Smith, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his grandparents, Arthur (Francis) Smith, Vivian Rickard, and Daniel Hill.
