Blake Bowers, 60, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Born in 1965 in Kansas City, KS, he was the son of the late Ivan and Mary Louise Bowers, and the husband of Angela (Palazzo) Bowers.
Raised in Lawrence, KS, he was an active member of Civil Air Patrol and Boy Scouts, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating from high school, he enlisted into the United States Army where he served his country with honor and distinction and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. Blake's duties included combat engineer, recruiting, AMED recruiting, and Station Commander for USAREC. He was stationed overseas and throughout the United States over his 20 years of service. While in the Army, he earned his Bachelors of Science from Sullivan University in Louisville, KY.
After retiring from the Army, he ventured into the pharmaceutical industry where he flourished in his second career for over 21 years. He earned Circle of Excellence twice, and was a constant presence in Western New York hospitals, pharmacies, and doctor's offices with his fashionable suits and his high-end accessories. Over the years, Blake was an active member at various gun clubs, was in a leadership role to help mentor young women and men in Civil Air Patrol, and trained in fencing. But most of all, he was proud of earning his 3rd Degree black belt in Krav Maga.
When not working or training, he loved vacationing with his wife, daughter and extended family. There have been many trips throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe. But most of all, he loved his Disney Cruises. It was the only time he turned off his business or serious persona for a great length of time and relaxed with his girls while enjoying Mickey Bars, private island activities, and liquor seminars.
In addition to his beloved wife of 28 years, Blake is survived by his daughter, Kirsten and fiancé Jake; his sister Mathilde (Dan) Born, his brother-in-law, Ron and sister-in-law, Terrie. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, along with the brotherhood from those he served with in the Army and friends who became family.
