Brandalyn Amelia ' Beanie' 'Brandy' (Scalzo) Bellavia, 93 passed away on Sunday December 27, 2009 in Schoellkopf Health Care Facility in Niagara Falls, NY. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY the daughter of the late Louis and Irene (Logan) Scalzo Sr.

Brandalyn was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and formerly Wheatfield Towers, where she proudly served as president of their Association. On September 11, 1937, she married Frank J. Bellavia in Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Bellavia predeceased her in 1998. During World War II, Brandalyn worked at Bell Aero Space alongside "Rosie the Riveter" in the cockpits of airplanes. For over twenty five years, she worked at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, starting as a Candy Striper as a young girl and then in the dining room. Brandy also worked at the former Trapasso's 5&10 Store, Grants Department Store, and S&H Green Stamps in Niagara Falls. She returned to Memorial Medical Center as the 'TV Lady' throughout the 1970's, 80's and finally retiring in 1995. For many years Brandy also worked for the Board of Elections in Niagara Falls.

Brandy devoted her life to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took great pride and joy in cooking Sunday dinners for her family, and sharing Tuesday dinners with her sisters, nieces and close friend Bonnie. Brandy was the recipient of the Pine Ave. Business Association 'Cittadini Speciale' Award, and in her leisure time enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. Bellavia is survived by her three daughters, Jane (Frank) Congi, Frances (late David) Ventry and Marjorie (Salvatore) LaScala all of Wheatfield,, NY thirteen grandchildren, Linda (William) Grace, Frank (Janine) Congi Jr., Kim Congi, Vincent Congi, David Ventry, Kelly (Kris) Ventry Furman, Marni (Frank) Amoretti, Mark Ventry, James Ventry, Nicole Ventry, Anthony (Lisa) LaScala, Traci (Scott) Bax and Tricia LaScala, her great-grandchildren, Jaclyn, Adam, Lauren, Matthew, Joel, Zachary, Christopher, Elijah, Jacob, Matthew, Austin, Madison, Kelsi, Ragen, Alexander, Brittany, Joey and Megan, four sisters, Ann Waldriff of Town of Niagara, NY, Netta (late Frank) Cottet of Tampa, FL, Loretta (late Sam) Musolino and Ruth (late Charles) Terrana both of Town of Niagara, NY, her dear friend Bonnie Lawrence and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Louis (late Julie) Scalzo Jr. and Joseph Scalzo, and two sisters, Evelyn (late Frank) Syracuse and Dorothy (late Carl) Guidotti.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday December 30th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish, at Prince of Peace Church 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. EVERYONE WILL ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
