Brian J. McCormick, Jr., NFFD, 51, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2021.   Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Brian J. McCormick and the late Colleen (Bradigan) McCormick.

Brian graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  He served in the United States Navy from 1992 until his honorable discharge in 1994.  Brian served with the Niagara Falls Fire Department as a Firefighter since 2006, and was promoted to Captain in 2017.  He enjoyed kayaking, boating, golfing, grilling and stargazing with his daughter Liz.  He enjoyed live music and attending concerts, and was an avid fan of the band Radiohead.  Ice skating was a big part of his life, as he volunteered his time as an instructor with the Gliding Stars of Western New York, where his loved all of the kids.  He also participated actively with the Niagara Falls Firefighters' Christmas Toy Fund and the Ride for Roswell.  Brian loved going annually to Disney with his family.  Above all, his family was the center of his life and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Brian is survived by his spouse, Melanie C. (nee Warren) McCormick; his daughters, Hayley (Justin) Richards and Elizabeth McCormick; his grandchildren, Astoria Richards and Ronan Richards, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 26 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held at 7 PM.  Interment with Military Honors to be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Gliding Stars of Western New York, 1307 Military Road, Buffalo, NY 14217.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
